The Background

NorWest Co-op (NWC) Community Health is the only healthcare co-operative in Manitoba.

Based on the values of respect, innovation, and cooperation, NWC engages the community in health and wellness and provides services and programming in primary health care, community development, counselling and support services, and early learning and child care.

The Opportunity

RWC’s management group realized that the co-operative needed a digital means to strengthen internal communication, engagement, and the accessibility of resources among its employees. They approached Relish to help them develop a solution.

The Solution

The Relish Development Team created primary and secondary means for NWC’s employees to stay up-to-date and have critical information readily at their fingertips.

The primary means would be an internal portal targeted specifically to NWC employees. This portal was built into the company website and gave NWC staff access to internal documents, staff directories, and a memo generation system. Relish integrated a moderator approval process into the memo generation system to ensure that memos were vetted before posting.

For the secondary means, Relish’s team developed an app as an extension of the portal, delivering convenience and mobility. The portal and the app could be updated simultaneously through a single system and accessed through the event calendar.

Relish provided in-depth training to staff for utilizing the new portal and app.
