The Background

Konex is a cable wakeboard (water skiing by electric cable) park construction company based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, owned and operated by Daniel Kathan. He came up with the idea after working at Canada’s largest cable wakeboard park and believing that he could improve upon the technology. Extensive market research confirmed that cable wakeboard park enthusiasts and executives shared this belief, which convinced Kathan that this was a genuine market opportunity. He was eager and ready to start his business.

The Opportunity

For Konex to achieve its goal of building the leading brand in cable wakeboard park construction, it was essential to build awareness and appreciation for the company’s products and services amongst its target audience. Konex needed a brand identity and an e-commerce website for this to happen.

The Solution

Relish began work to translate the company’s unique value proposition and offerings into a brand identity and web presence that would attract and engage only the most qualified and involved potential clients. A  focused approach to attracting and retaining a niche consumer target would vastly reduce the time and money invested in marketing activities to fill the top of the sales funnel.

To drive conversions, Relish needed to develop the new website to:

  • Communicate Konex’s products’ innovative nature, parts reliability, potential benefits, lower-cost obstacles and overall value.
  • Include an interactive wakeboard cable park builder online that didn’t jeopardize user experience but would properly represent the brand.
  • Feature a comprehensive quoting tool for large construction projects.

Relish’s Development Team began by integrating 3D modelling and articulation functionalities within the website to enhance the customized Build Your Cable System interactive feature, creating a more immersive user experience.

Next, a quoting tool was developed, which allowed users to translate their cable system build into an accurate quote request. This tool also included social media integration for “top of funnel” content-sharing opportunities.

Finally, e-commerce functionality was added to the mix, introducing a straightforward way for customers to order parts for their Konex cable wakeboard system.

Today, Konex’s new brand identity and robust website are working together to effectively communicate the company’s unique selling proposition to wake park industry customers and enthusiasts worldwide. The site meets the desired objectives of attracting, engaging, and eliciting client quotes online, which has freed up precious time for Kathan and his team to concentrate on innovation, project management and closing sales.
