The Background

A prominent American multinational oil and gas corporation (AMOGC) approached Relish for help with augmenting its training capabilities. A strategic pillar for this organization is employee development. For some time, the AMOGC had delivered on this commitment through several methods from on-the-job training to workshops, classroom instruction and online education.

The Opportunity

Relish’s Development Team performed a thorough review of AMOGC’s systems, programs, and policies. The team recognized that the best path forward for the AMOGC’s training needs was to create tools and a scalable framework to deliver a standardized training program to site-level employees and branded wholesalers.  The new platform would also need to offer a way for employees to work at their own pace while also providing a way for supervisors and managers to monitor the employees’ progress and test results.

The Solution

Relish created a custom web-based e-learning Training Resource Center with web, iOS and Android apps. The platform required extensive development of custom architecture.

Before going “live”,  the system was rigorously focus-tested along with extensive user-experience testing.

Once rolled out, the platform delivered self-managed modules, including visual tools and video, documents, and more to address standards associated with AMOGC’s stations’ site appearance, customer service and experience, while also allowing for ad-hoc delivery of webinars and other training opportunities. Employees could also access the system offline and work at their own pace by downloading the modules. For the managers, Relish builtin extensive reporting and analysis capabilities to ensure that employees worked on their personal development.

Finally, the system framework’s design was highly scalable, enabling global program delivery and ensuring it could grow well beyond the already hefty load of approximately 30,000 current users.
