The Background

The College of Dietitians of Manitoba (CDM) is a not-for-profit regulatory organization dedicated to protecting the public by setting standards of practice and ensuring the competency of all registered dietitians practicing within the province.

The Opportunity

While CDM is not an education facility, it is responsible for establishing education standards and ensuring that dietitians meet the education standards. CDM approached Relish to help develop and integrate an eLearning portal into its existing WordPress website to fulfill this mandate. The portal needed to allow users to log in securely and participate in self-directed training. Administrators also required a tracking system unique to each training module, providing visibility of their users’ progress.

The Solution

Relish’s Development Team developed articulate eLearning training modules which integrated seamlessly within CDM’s existing website. Also, as CDM requested, the Team built a secure login portal and member profile management functionality.

For overseeing and confirming its users’ progress through the learning modules, the Development Team integrated a tracking functionality within each module, which provided real-time reporting back to CDM’s administrators.

By the project’s conclusion, CDM’s website offered user-friendly, self-directed dietitian training, easy reporting, and user assessment functions. The website’s new functionality helped the organization to make training more accessible for its users while also reducing the cost of delivering high-quality training to dietitians across the province.
